Why WCI WordPress Support Desk was an absolute necessity?

Story behind its launch

At WCI, me and my team built websites with wordpress which is a powerful content management system. And like all good softwares out there, it is updated regularly including the themes and plugins that goes into building the sites.

Over the years I have realised most of my Clients don’t bother to update their  websites. And even if I tried suggesting them a maintenance package after I complete the work, many of them would be like “may be some other time”. Or I will wait till I start making some money from the website before adding a monthly fee right now.

This went on until I had a client whose website was hacked because they were no updates for more then 15 months. After spending whole weekend and hefty invoice, his website was back to normal

 

After this he was absolutely convinced he needed a wordpress security and maintenance package for his website and was more then eager to sign up with me.

Plus I have had clients who didn’t sign up to any maintenance package, but came back for some small website updates. This led to a series of emails, estimation, invoices and lot of back and forth. I wanted a system that streamlines this process so that its easier for me to handle these tasks also cost efficient for my clients too, rather then paying for every task.

I realised its high time I organise my wordpress support and security packages so that I can cater to more clients. Plus its makes you look so much more professional rather then just sending the packages over an email.

Thus I got about creating this support desk and I plan on making it an independent wordpress security and maintenance service after a few months.

WordPress Website Support and More

While crafting our support packages my main aim was to go beyond the standard website security and maintenance. I realised many of my clients needed quick website changes, some needed help with Google Analytics, while others wanted to know how to navigate around their website backend.

Hence I developed the support packages such that they cover all these requirements and I am working daily to improve it. So if you feel the need of any other features not included, do shoot me an email and I will try to update the packages in the next month.
